Hi! I'm Ali and I am the mom to two little girls and to this blog. As a recovering perfectionist, motherhood humbled me and continues to humble me. For many, my story starts out the same way...

I always wanted to be a mother, so when I became a mother I was filled with joy, excitement, and then sorrow. Diagnosed with postpartum depression and anxiety after the births of both of my babies, my picture of motherhood was immediately shattered. When my two years "postpartum" were up and all that left my medical records was the term "postpartum" leaving me with the depression, the anxiety, and their new friend PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder), my picture of motherhood changed again. My picture has been shattered, torn, and scribbled on (literally, too), but it has also been repaired, restored, and redeemed time and time again.
God has taken the old me and made a new me and continues to make me new every day. He has used every low to raise me high. My faith saved me the moment I fully surrendered and reached out my hand to Jesus. I have been made well, so here I am to encourage you to reach out your hand and touch His robe and be made well, too.

... for she said to herself, "If I can just touch his robe, I'll be made well."
Jesus turned and saw her. "Have courage, daughter," he said. "Your faith has saved you."

I find writing to be healing and whenever I finish writing a post, I am filled with hope. It is only by the grace of God that I even have a story to tell. So whether our stories are similiar or completely different, my prayer is that you find healing and hope here, too. Thank you for being here with me!
